Jason C. Furtado

Dr. Furtado’s principal areas of research involve large-scale atmospheric and climate dynamics, climate model validation, and ocean-atmosphere coupling. He has published papers on tropical and North Pacific decadal variability and extratropical stratosphere-troposphere coupling. Dr. Furtado works on the AER eCastTM forecasting team, providing medium- and long-range weather analysis for clients, and also assists with seasonal forecasts. He received his Ph.D. from the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Georgia Institute of Technology in 2010 and is a member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS), the National Weather Association (NWA), and the American Geophysical Union (AGU).
