This Nature Geoscience article reviews the scientific research that explores the possibility of a link between Arctic change and weather in the mid-latitudes. Research efforts have "revealed three potential dynamical pathways linking Arctic amplification to mid-latitude weather. They include changes in storm tracks, the jet stream, and planetary waves and their associated energy propagation."
