Consulting Services

Since its founding in 1977, Atmospheric and Environmental Research (AER) has successfully promoted the advancement of the scientific understanding of the environment and, working with businesses and policymakers, applied that knowledge toward the solving of real world problems. We are well known internationally for our work in assessing global environmental problems, including integration of remotely sensed data into numerical models, characterization of atmospheric radiation, stratospheric ozone depletion, and global warming. With our headquarters located in Lexington, MA, AER has close links to such institutions as Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Nearly half of the AER staff hold advanced degrees, and their contributions to the atmospheric and planetary sciences are reflected in an impressive list of publications in leading scientific journals. In 1993, the American Meteorological Society selected AER to receive the Award for Outstanding Services to Meteorology by a Corporation for "commitment to scientific excellence, service to the public, and notable contributions to atmospheric science."

AER's capabilities include scientific studies to meet each client's needs in; research and development, environmental policy, instrument design and feasibility, and, financial and insurance risk management. In addition AER has capabilities and experience in: algorithm development, on-site technical support, providing satellite data, technical assessment, systems integration-aviation weather systems, project management, and consulting. AER has extensive experience in the creation and utilization of a number of simulation models including:
