Richard A. Quinn

Dr. Quinn has developed, validated and delivered research and production grade scientific software in support of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) geospace research, while working closely with AFRL to identify critical requirements, and extend knowledge of the near-Earth plasma environment both as a team member and team leader. He also manages the development of AER's Space Environment and Effects Toolkit (SEET) for AGI's popular commercial Systems Tool Kit (STK) software. This commercial product, made possible by a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with AFRL, leverages long-term AER support of the AFRL AF-GEOSPACE visualization software suite. Current projects include AE9/AP9 next-gen radiation belt model development and DSX satellite mission planning tools. Prior to joining AER in March 2004, Dr. Quinn received his PhD in physics from The University of Iowa and worked for 3+ years at the Max Planck Institute in Garching, Germany, eventually leading the early development phase of a multi-national International Space Station micro-gravity experiment.
