Earth

Everything on our planet is interconnected dynamically through physical processes linking the atmosphere, oceans, and solid Earth. At Atmospheric and Environmental Research (AER), we study all of these processes tand their interactions. For example, our researchers study:

  • Variability in sea levels from days to decades and how it relates to land hydrology and ice
  • Large-scale circulation and mass fields, including pressure signals on the ocean bottom, and how they relate to changes in the Earth rotation
  • Snow cover in the arctic and how it relates to climate dynamics

These and other research projects have enabled us to unlock the doors to:

  • New predictors of seasonal weather trends
  • Estimating increases in flood risk in the future
  • Innovations in modeling the Earth’s energy cycle in global climate models

For our clients, it means comprehensive research findings that fully address these issues – from basic research through practical application.
