We are sad to report that Dak Sze, founder of AER, passed away Saturday, February 25th, surrounded by his family. Dak was a pioneering scientist who published over 150 papers, leading to new investigations of the consequences of anthropogenic atmospheric emissions. With colleagues at Harvard University, Dak carried out and published some of the very early work on modeling ozone depletion from chlorofluorocarbons in 1975. In 1977 Dak established AER as a place for focused performance of high caliber science and successfully led the company to grow in international accomplishment and reputation for many years. We send condolences to the Sze family and Dak’s many friends everywhere around the globe.
